I have been getting feedback on posts written about the worsening law and order situation in Karachi and this has in-fact prompted me to write about the dreaded Section 144 and how it does or doesn’t support the common man. By common man I mean a law abiding citizen and not a mugger or a criminal. Before delving in to this subject it will be prudent to take a look at the Section 144 and what all it stands for.
Just two words come to my mind when I think of blogging options for us Pakistanis, WordPress and Blogger. I had been using Word Press (self hosted) until the traffic got really high and my hosting service provider shut my blog down. I moved to another host and the stats looked really good, I was making some pocket money too, but then my Blog caught a virus and the host told me to make a move.
Before reading this post please Google the word, “Cellpissloo”. I can assure you it will come empty, save for one odd link pointing to my Blog (that is if I am lucky enough). That’s because the term has been coined by me! And I am seriously considering sending it to the guys at Oxford Dictionary or even Merriam Webster to officially add it to their gargantuan repository of words.
this is a Guest Post from a cop who risks his life (for you and me) on the city streets every day. I had the temerity to ask him (Or you could say I was dumb enough) about the role of Police in Model Town as well as Islamabad incident in which many innocent Pakistanis lost their lives. Our man, has pored his heart out. The few Kilo Bytes of space is dedicated to him. And I am really grateful to him for sharing his views in such a candid and bold manner. May no harm fall on him, ever. Ameen.
