Pen Pistol, a rare find

On a recent trip to the famous Darra Adam Khel I came across this pen pistol. My curiosity got the better of me and I had to take a closer look at it. I had heard so much about it, but had never got a chance to see one or even fire it. The funny thing is I don’t even know what are the rules and laws regarding this device. But since it can actually fire a bullet and can kill someone so I think it comes in the category of a weapon.

So this little contraption which is 5.5″ or 14 cms in length is actually a pistol which can fire just one bullet at a time. Very simple in design and operation. I was even surprised to know that it actually functions like a ball pen if you put a cartridge refill in to it. The device I am talking about was made for .25 ACP caliber. The operation is very simple you unscrew it and put a round in the barrel, then you screw it back on. Then remove the front piece or the tip covering the barrel, pull out the end cap which is spring loaded and cocks the weapon for ready to fire. Next you hold it and press the clip which actually functions like a trigger. The barrel is smooth bore and not rifled.

The pen pistol unscrewed. The round is placed in the front part which is actually the barrel.

See the smooth bore barrel.

I have heard these were also available in .22 LR but haven’t seen one. Also I am not sure how reliable and safe this pistol is. Pleased do share your thoughts on this post. Cheers
