Walther PS22 Red Dot Sight Review

walther-ps-22-red-dot

The Walther PS22 Red Dot sight is an inexpensive piece of equipment well suited for mounting on rifles and hunting guns, whether center fire or rim fired. It obviates the need for iron sights and lets you in quick target acquisition with both eyes open. The sight comes with a Picatinny style mount so you do not have to buy extra mountings. Its light weight, easy to install and makes shooting fun.

Walther PS22 Red Dot sight specs:

  • Reticle Color: Red
  • Battery: 1 x CR 2032
  • Reticle: 5 MOA
  • 1 x Magnification
  • Reflex Style
  • Flip open lens caps at both ends
  • Tube dia: 30 mm
  • Elevation and windage adjustments for zeroing
  • 11 adjustments for Reticle brightness

I have had the pleasure of mounting on my CQA 5.56 semi auto rifle and also on a friend’s AK47 and I can tell you its a very simple piece of equipment; very hassle free to install, adjust, zero in and use. All you need is an Allen key which comes in the box, tighten it and you’re good to go. It fits Weaver as well as Picatinny rails. The flip up covers provide protection to lens at both ends against damage and dust. Fitted on a CQA 5.56 cal rifle it gives good tight groups till 200 M. Frankly, I haven’t tried beyond that due to space constraints but I don’t think it will give good results owing to 1 x magnification. This is a sub $100 category product and offers good value for money. So if you’re a hunter, a range guy or a home defense freak, try it out, you won’t be disappointed. Cheers 🙂
