How to read Urdu SMS on an Android phone

One of the things I don’t like about Android phones is their inability to show Urdu or Arabic fonts. This becomes really annoying when one has to read an SMS sent in Urdu or even Arabic. Although I am hooked to Android smartphones since last two years, but I just do not like this shortcoming. There is good news for all those who want at least to read Urdu or Arabic SMS on an Android smartphone.

On a normal Android phone this is how an Urdu text appears.

You can now read this by installing an Android app for free. Just head on to Google Play, download and install Mirsal. The app displays Urdu and/or Arabic SMS just like a normal script. Here’s how the same SMS appears on the Android phone using Mirsal.
